Understanding Cluny abbey
• Independent and powerful. In
910 William the Pious founded the abbey, placed directly under the
protection of Rome. Its abbot acted as a mediator between the pope and
political powers. Cluny was the mother house with 1,400 outbuildings.
It was sold as a national asset in 1798, and the abbey was torn down
and its church all but destroyed.

L'émission télévisée "Des Racines & des Ailes" diffusée le 15/09/2010 sur France 3 nous a permis de plonger dans l'Histoire et de découvrir un des chefs d'oeuvre de l'art roman. Je suis fier de mon patrimoine. Votre site devrait permettre à terme avec le concours de différents Ministères (Culture, Environnement, Logement, Intérieur, Finances, d'autres encore, presque tous), une visite complète de toutes les richesses de notre pays, et une implication plus directe de notre part (chacun d'entre nous, chaque citoyen), et mener ainsi à bien leur conservation. Notez qu'il en est du patrimoine bâti comme de la conservation d'espèces animales et végétales, le tout s'imbriquant naturellement. Un fervent défenseur de nos richesses patrimoniales, de notre histoire, de notre passé, et finalement de notre avenir. le zé
